I am Elizabeth Ebama, CNA, founder of Heart to Heart Congo. This organization is more than a mission—it’s a tribute to my journey and my brother’s legacy. With over twenty years in cardiac care and roots in Budjala, I founded Heart to Heart Congo to address critical healthcare needs in the Democratic Republic of Congo. My brother’s battle with diabetes first inspired me to take action in 2009 by sending supplies and organizing health fairs. His passing in January 2021 strengthened my resolve to bridge healthcare gaps for our communities. Through Heart to Heart Congo, I am dedicated to bringing quality care and hope to the Congolese people both at home and abroad.

I bring over two decades of medical expertise, specializing in internal medicine and infectious diseases.  Born in DR Congo and raised in the US, I’m a third culture kid, passionate about empowering people for healthier lives.  My career spans diverse locations, such as New York, South Carolina, Georgia, and other states.  I have seen healthcare’s transformative power in varied cultures and Heart to Heart Congo’s mission resonates deeply with me.

As the Medical Advisor, I guide healthcare strategies and outreach programs in Congolese communities in the U.S. and in DR Congo.  I believe that we can contribute to bridging healthcare and making a healthier Congo a reality, one life at a time.

I am a public health officer with 15 years of experience in US domestic and global health programs. I am passionate about improving the lives of individuals and communities, particularly in resource challenged countries, like my native DR Congo.  I believe access to healthcare and education is a fundamental human right, regardless of geography or social class.  

At Heart to Heart Congo, I bring strategic leadership to our mission, using data to drive our initiatives.  My expertise includes program development, international partnerships, surveillance, and immunization programs.  I am eager to leverage my skills to drive change at Heart to Heart Congo.

With extensive experience in finances and taxes, I bring a wealth of expertise to the team, overseeing budgeting, financial planning, and reporting to ensure our resources are managed efficiently and transparently. I understand that sound financial management is essential for making a meaningful impact on the lives of the Congolese people. My dedication to Heart to Heart Congo’s cause drives my meticulous approach to financial oversight, ensuring that every dollar is maximized for impact. With my guidance, Heart to Heart Congo is well-equipped to navigate financial challenges, seize opportunities, and achieve greater sustainability as we work to bring positive change to the communities we serve.

I am a multi-media designer with over a decade of experience, and my passion lies in translating clients' concepts into tangible projects. Though I left my native DR Congo as an infant, fate brought me back to Budjala, my mother's village, in 2021, and what I witnessed there left an indelible mark.

During a health campaign initiative, I saw the pressing needs in health, education, and empowerment that the community faced. It was a pivotal moment that fueled my desire to make a difference. Now, as the Media and Communications Director at Heart to Heart Congo, I am dedicated to amplifying our mission.

My role is to bridge hearts and stories, to share the impactful work we do, and to engage with our supporters worldwide. I am eager to leverage my skills to support Heart to Heart Congo in its journey to transform lives, one story at a time.
